Cyprus must reiterate a multidimensional foreign policy

AKEL reiterates the self-evident position that international interest for a solution of the Cyprus problem is necessary and welcome, under the also self-evident pre-condition that this interest will be channelled in the right direction of the solution of the Cyprus problem based on the UN resolutions and International Law.

At the same time, in the same context, any international interest cannot but respect international legality and the Republic of Cyprus, whilst ensuring that this is not one-dimensional but multidimensional with the involvement of Cyprus’ traditional friends and supporters, such as the Russian Federation.

This is the direction which all the political forces, primarily the government, should turn their attention to, rather than the pre-election exploitation of the Biden visit to serve communication needs, but neither on the other hand an attempt to demonize it.
