President Christodoulides must stop playing with citizen’s intelligence and whining whenever he is being criticised for things he should have been doing but is not, noted AKEL MEP Giorgos Georgiou.
Speaking on Astra’s afternoon programme, he called on the President to act serious, saying that he knows very well what he has to do for the resumption of talks on the Cyprus problem.
Giorgos Georgiou also stressed that he was received with courtesy by the Europeans and told that they would listen to his proposal for a more active EU involvement on the Cyprus problem. Furthermore, he also said that the Europeans know very well who Christodoulides and Anastasiades are and what they did at the 2027 Crans-Montana on Cyprus.
At the same time, the AKEL MEP underlined that some people should bow their heads and apologise to the people of Famagusta and to the rest of our citizens who feel that the Cyprus problem has hit rock bottom and is moving down dangerous paths.
The AKEL MEP also stressed that permanent partition is not on the verge, but has gone beyond, adding that loud alarm bells are ringing. He also pointed out that unfortunately we are losing our country, the situation is very bad and that only dramatic developments could reverse the current situation.
