The Predator surveillance case back in the spotlight

AKEL demands answers from the Attorney General

16 March 2026, AKEL C.C. Press Office, Nicosia

In a public statement, Mr. Tal Dillian, founder of ‘Intellexa’ — the company that introduced the Predator surveillance software to Greece and Cyprus — stated verbatim, “My clients are governments and security agencies.”

Mr. Dillian was recently sentenced to prison in Greece. In Cyprus, despite a wealth of evidence demonstrating political and institutional collusion/entanglement between the Anastasiades-DISY government and the convicted individual, the Legal Service (of the Republic) proceeded to suspend criminal prosecution against the former agent in question.

Following his admission that his company’s clients — that is, purchasers of surveillance services — are governments and security agencies, the Attorney General must provide an answer to the following question:

Why was Mr. Dillian acquitted of the charges without a trial, when dozens of pieces of evidence glaringly indicate that, just as in Greece, a parastatal surveillance apparatus was established and operated for years in Cyprus as well?
