The General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL Stefanos Stefanou met with the Ambassador of Italy to Cyprus

The General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, met today with the Italian Ambassador to Cyprus, Federica Ferrari Bravo. The General Secretary of AKEL was accompanied by Vera Polycarpou, Head of the International Relations and European Policy Bureau of the C.C. of AKEL.

During the meeting there was an exchange of views on developments in Cyprus, in our region and in the EU.  Stefanos Stefanou expressed concern about developments in the EU that affect the lives of both Cypriot working people, as well as workers across all the EU member states.

The General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL underlined to the Italian Ambassador that AKEL insists and is working to overcome the deadlock on the Cyprus problem through the resumption of the talks with the aim of reaching a solution of a Bi-zonal, Bicommunal Federation.
