Μήνυμα προς το 23ο Συνέδριο απέστειλε το Κομμουνιστικό Κόμμα Σουαζιλάνδης:

«Revolutionary greetings to all the delegates to the 23rd Congress of AKEL.

The Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) conveys its great wishes to the 23rd Congress of your Party. The CPS congratulates the AKEL Central Committee for its sterling work in leading the Party thus far.

The revolutionary work of AKEL has not gone unnoticed by the working class of Swaziland. The CPS notes the problems engulfing your country and offers its full support to the people as they wage their struggles, including the struggles for the unity of your country.

The CPS supports AKEL’s “proposal on the Cyprus problem” issued by AKEL Central Committee General Secretary on 9 th January 2021. As the General Secretary said, the solution must be one “in which the human rights and fundamental freedoms of all Cypriot citizens will be guaranteed and safeguarded.”

The people of Swaziland are currently waging nationwide protest actions against the absolute monarchy, the last one in Africa. The demand is for the unbanning of political parties and democracy, as well as the end of police violence.

Absolute-monarchy rule has dominated Swaziland since the banning of political parties on 12 April 1973. All executive, legislative and judicial powers remain bestowed on the monarch who is immune from any political and legal contestation.

The CPS calls for our two parties to work more closely together and strengthen our relations as we wage working-class struggles in our respective countries.

The CPS wishes your Party a successful 23rd Congress, comrades.
