Μήνυμα προς το 23ο Συνέδριο απέστειλε το Κομμουνιστικό Κόμμα Ουκρανίας:

«Dear comrades in the class struggle!

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine warmly and cordially welcomes you, the delegates to the XXIIII Congress of the Progressive Party of the Working People of Cyprus (AKEL), the Communists of Cyprus, all your supporters with an important event in the political life of the Party – with the beginning of the work of a responsible Party Congress, where you will have not only to sum up the results of the work done, but also to determine the strategy and tactics of the struggle for the coming years.

The Progressive Party of the Working People of Cyprus (AKEL) is a revolutionary political organization of the working class and workers not only in Cyprus, but also in the Mediterranean, which, by its loyalty to Marxism-Leninism, by its practical deeds, has proved its political vitality.

The Communists of Ukraine are confident that your Congress will be held in an atmosphere of Party comradeship and constructivism, will confirm both its political class firmness and decisiveness in the implementation of the tasks of the Party, and its ability to dynamically develop in accordance with new modern conditions and challenges. This Congress will confirm its pioneering contribution to the organization of the class struggle of the working people of Cyprus against the capitalist exploitation of man by man, for the political and socioeconomic rights, freedoms and gender equality, rights of youth who are suffocating from the corruption of conservatism, authoritarianism, and the arrogance of the ruling power.

We are confident that AKEL will intensify its political struggle for rapprochement, strengthening and reunification of the Greek and Turkish Cypriot communities, will persistently continue the fight against the revival of neo-fascism and Nazism, racism, and terrorism, uphold the unity and cohesion of the international Communist and workers’ movement in the struggle for peace, national independence, democracy, justice and social progress, for democracy and socialism!
