Μήνυμα προς το 23ο Συνέδριο απέστειλε το Κομμουνιστικό Κόμμα Ισραήλ:

«Dear comrades,

Warm fraternal greetings for your 23rd Congress; it is truly a challenge to hold a congress under the restrictions laid by the covid-19 pandemic, a mission we are confident you will complete successfully.

Dear comrades,

Your Congress is being held under a significant attack on employment of the youth, women and great danger of continuous repression of workers’ rights and status in Cyprus and worldwide.

In these circumstances, we know that this Congress has many questions to answer and significant issues to tackle on how AKEL can, and hopefully will, preserve the ongoing sacrifices your comrades have exerted for years to maintain the unity of the island and to regain the power to demolish fascist corrupt government from suffocating the people of Cyprus and their rights. Holding the Congress in its open framework and allowing contributions from outside the party is only a clear testimony of AKEL’s democratic perceptions and profound confidence in its present and future status and impact in Cyprus and the region.

On this occasion, and based on the long fraternal relationship between AKEL and the Communist Party of Israel, we acknowledge your deep commitment to the Palestinian cause, and the solidarity with the struggle against the Israeli internal policies against the Palestinian citizens of Israel, and your solid condemnation of the Israeli occupation and brutal aggression against Palestinians. AKEL, in particular, plays a historic role in supporting the Palestinian cause, refugees, and struggle for decades.

We wish AKEL many more years of prosperity. We hope to keep and strengthen the relations between our two parties based on internationalist solidarity in the struggle for a just, lasting peace in Palestine, Israel and the region.

We salute your 23rd Congress and send all the comrades of AKEL our heartily greetings of prosperity and success.
