The Central Committee of AKEL approved its ‘Theses’ for the 23rd Party Congress

AKEL C.C. Press Office, 25th January 2020, Nicosia

The Central Committee of AKEL discussed and approved today its ‘Theses’ for the 23rd Party Congress to be held on 11-14th June 2020. The Congress, as the highest body of AKEL, represents the most important landmark in the course of the Party and will decide the guidelines and positions of the Party for the coming years.

The ‘Theses’ of the C.C. to the Congress focus on AKEL’s findings and analyses of political, economic and social developments in our country, region, Europe and the world. They also include AKEL’s positions on the Cyprus problem, its proposals and assertions on the economy and society, on the state and institutions, as well as its positions on all the small and big challenges facing our country and people. They also get to grips with the functioning of the Party itself and ways to ensure its more effective intervention in Cypriot society and the strengthening of its ties with the people, working people and the young generation.

The ‘Theses’ of the C.C. of AKEL will be the subject of dialogue both within the Party itself, as well as society in general. The General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL will present in detail the Theses to the 23rd Congress at a press conference to be held in the forthcoming period.
