Addressing the shortcomings and problems in the public health sector obviously isn’t the government’s priority

22 November 2023, AKEL C.C. Press Office, Nicosia

The fact that the Minister of Health is complaining that she is not being allocated the necessary funds by the Ministry of Finance to proceed with the necessary policies, highlights that the government is obviously not prioritizing addressing the shortcomings and problems that exist in the public health sector.

We urge, once again, the President of the Republic to address health as a matter of utmost importance and to provide immediate solutions. The differences between Ministries and the lack of coordination between them are clearly of no interest to citizens. What people are interested in is that they enjoy the high level of health care to which they are entitled and to which the state is obliged to provide.
