AKEL meeting with the Maronite Kormakitis Local Community Council

An AKEL delegation headed by the General Secretary of the Party held a meeting yesterday with a delegation from the Kormakitis village Local Community Council, headed by the community leader, Valentinos Koumetto.

The AKEL delegation was briefed on the situation in Kormakitis following the recent devastating storm. Stefanos Stefanou expressed AKEL’s solidarity with the residents of the village and recalled that the Party had been by the side of the residents from the very first moment and that the AKEL Parliamentary Group had registered the issue of damage restoration to be debated in the relevant Parliamentary Committee.

The two delegations also discussed the resettlement plan in the occupied Maronite villages.
