AKEL-EDON Event on Monday 2nd September: Amazon – SOS

The C.C. of AKEL and Central Council of EDON Youth Organization are organizing a protest meeting on the fires in the Amazon on Monday 2nd September outside the Brazilian Embassy in Nicosia.
The Amazon is the most important habitat on the planet and is being destroyed because of economic interests. One of humanity’s main allies in combating climate change is being sacrificed on the sake of profit. The magnitude of the ecological disaster that is going on will never be reversed.
We call on all citizens to participate in the event on Monday 2nd September 7.30 pm outside the Brazilian Embassy (14 Achaeon St. 1101, Nicosia). Stefanos Stefanou, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C. of AKEL and MP, will be the main speaker at the event to demand that the necessary measures are taken to put an end to the disaster.
