The Government is only interested in the privileged few
AKEL C.C. Spokesperson Stefanos Stephanou on the World Bank Report

The World Bank, in its relevant Report, concludes that Cyprus has slipped down the table as regards four of the six indicators on governance. In particular, Cyprus has slipped as regards the indicator on combating corruption, the rule of law, effectiveness of governance, as well as the quality of regulation.
The World Bank’s report released confirms what citizens are experiencing on a daily basis. Namely, that the government is characterized by arrogance, authoritarianism and anti-social policies. It is obvious that the indicators also record that the government is in conflict with society. Governance indicators record that the Anastasiades-DISY government is the government of the few, the cronies and the privileged, and it isn’t interested in the many and in society.
