AKEL General Secretary meets with Turkish composer and writer Zülfü Livaneli

The General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL Andros Kyprianou had a meeting today with the Turkish composer and writer Zülfü Livaneli.
The General Secretary of AKEL briefed Mr. Livaneli about the developments with regards the Cyprus problem. The two agreed that if the Cyprus problem is not solved, the Turkish Cypriot community won’t manage to survive, while if the Cyprus problem is not solved then Cyprus will cease to exist as we know it today. Mr. Livaneli expressed the hope that the Cyprus problem will be solved soon and that Cyprus can live in peace. He expressed the hope that Greek Cypriots would support the Turkish Cypriot community to work with them to solve the Cyprus problem.
The General Secretary of AKEL thanked Mr. Livaneli for his contribution to music, the arts and his letters, as well as his contribution to the struggle of humanity to spread the universal ideals of peace and friendship of the peoples through the arts and culture. The General Secretary of AKEL assured that AKEL will always be at the forefront of this struggle with the people of the arts and letters, of culture in general.
