AKEL will bring back its proposal for the protection of primary family homes and small business premises
Statement by Georgos Loucaides, AKEL C.C. Spokesperson
AKEL C.C. Press Office, 26th May 2016, Nicosia
The elections are over, together with the pledges made. The first statements issued by the banks for foreclosures, call to mind the danger, in the period ahead, of the selling off of the primary family home and the small premises of SME’s. It is certain that the banks will not stop exerting suffocating pressure on all those families and small businesses who bear no responsibility whatsoever for the economic crisis, but found themselves vulnerable because of it.
These developments concern us. This is why AKEL will seek to reach an understanding with the rest of the political forces, aiming at bring backing its proposal for the protection of the primary family home and small business premise and the further strengthening of the existing insolvency legislative framework.
