The resignation of Turkish Prime Minister Davutoglu reconfirms the complete control Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan exercises over the ruling Justice and Development Party, as well as the serious democratic deficits in this country. AKEL expresses its concern about the possible impacts on the Cyprus problem, given President Erdogan’s absolute dominance in political affairs in Turkey.
