Solidarity with the Communist Party of Ukraine
AKEL C.C. Press Office, 25th July 2014, Nicosia
AKEL condemns the illegal decision of the Ukrainian authorities to outlaw the Communist Party of Ukraine, a genuine patriotic force. AKEL has for some time been pointing out that the imperialist interventions in Ukraine have brought to the surface fascist beliefs and political organizations, which now rule the country. The new Ukrainian authorities may have initially turned against the communists, who are the most consistent opponents of fascist terror, but they will eventually also turn against other social groups and organized groups that will not comply with their dictates.
AKEL calls on all the democratic forces in Cyprus to react by denouncing this fascist action.
As AKEL, we express our solidarity with the struggle of the Communist Party of Ukraine. In this context, we are organizing a meeting to denounce the decision of the Ukrainian authorities, outside the Ukrainian Embassy, 10 Andreas Miaoulis Street, Enkomi, on Monday, 28th July 2014 at 12:00 p.m.
