Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties in Cyprus

The Working Group of the International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties will convene in Cyprus this coming weekend 21-22nd June 2014, which will hosted by AKEL in Pervolia Larnaca. Besides AKEL, twenty-three other Communist and Workers’ Parties from Greece, Belgium, Britain, Italy, Spain,
Portugal, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Russia, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Ecuador, Cuba, Brazil, India, South Africa and Sudan will participate in the session.

logo IMCWP WG meetingThe deliberations of the session will be opened with a speech by Andros Kyprianou, General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL, who will inform the participants about the developments on the Cyprus problem. Furthermore, the Working Group will discuss the preparation for the 16th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties, to be held towards the end of 2014 in Ecuador. At the same time, the Parties participating in the session of the Working Group will exchange views on developments in Ukraine and the Middle East.

The annual International Meetings of the Communist and Workers’ Parties, which are prepared by intermediary sessions of the Working Group, represent the forum for dialogue, coordination and joint action of the international communist movement, whose activity is also projected through its website, www.solidnet.or
