Christos Christofias was born in 1983 in Nicosia and comes from the occupied village of Dikomo. He is married to Marina Savva and they have one child.

He holds a degree in Political Science and History from Panteion University of Athens. He is the Organizational Secretary of the District Committee of AKEL Nicosia-Kyrenia and member of the C.C. of AKEL.

During his student years he was a member of the Central Student Section of EDON (1998-2001) and during his student years he was President (2004-2005) and Organizational Secretary (2005-2007) of the Progressive Movement of Students in Athens.

He also served as Secretary of the Student Section of EDON (2010-2012), Central School Student Responsible of EDON (2012-2014), Central Organizational Secretary of EDON (2014-2015) and General Secretary of EDON (2015-2020).
