Andreas Kafkalias was born in 1971 in Limassol, where he lives. He is married to Niki Lazarou and they have three children.

He holds a degree in Business Administration.

From 2011 until today he is a Member of Parliament, while from 2006 to 2011 he was a Municipal Councilor in the Municipality of Limassol. He is the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources, a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance and Budget and a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Education and Culture. Since 2015 he is a Member of the C.C. of AKEL.

He was a member of the Central Council of EDON, member of the Board of the Cyprus Youth Organization (ONEK) (2003-2009), member of the Cyprus Anti-Drug Council (2008-2009), member of the Secretariat of the Federation of the Primary Education Parents Association of the district of Limassol (2009-2010) and member of the Board. Limassol Theatrical Development Company (ETHAL) (2006-2011).

He was the Head and member of the Parliamentary Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) during the period 2014-2018.
