AKEL’s Easter Message

On the occasion of Easter, AKEL extends its heartfelt wishes to all the people of Cyprus for good health, strength, hope, and prosperity. Especially during these Easter days, we express our appreciation and respect for the working people who will be spending the holidays away from their families working on the job and on shifts in hospitals, essential services, the food service industry, and in the retail sector.

During these days of warmth and joy, we must not forget those who are struggling to make ends meet and are under pressure. Many of our compatriots are face insecurity, dealing with high prices, expensiveness and the rising cost of living, at a time when social inequalities are growing dramatically.

At the same time, our thoughts are with all the peoples in our long-suffering region, but also throughout the whole world, who are facing war, conflicts and displacement as refugees. Ongoing geopolitical developments remind us just how fragile peace is.

In the face of today’s ordeals, hope can only be found in solidarity, in the pursuit of social justice, and in the struggles being waged for peace and human dignity.

With this hope, AKEL wishes everyone a Happy Easter and a joyful Resurrection, with health, light, and more humanity in our lives. May peace and love prevail for the whole world.
