The General Secretary of AKEL congratulates the new President of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP)

The General Secretary of AKEL Stefanos Stefanou sent a letter of congratulations today to the newly elected President of the Turkish Republican Party (CTP) Sıla Usar İncirli Inci over her election. The main part of the letter follows below:

“I would like to convey my warm congratulations on your election yesterday as President of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP). The great show of confidence that the party members have shown in you is a solid foundation and springboard for waging effective struggles for the Turkish Cypriot community, but also more generally for our common homeland—our Cyprus.

CTP and AKEL share a history of common struggles and a common understanding of the Cyprus problem. The role of our two parties and our cooperation are critical factors for the Cyprus problem, especially during this period of time when developments are imminent.

In this context, I hope that a meeting will soon be held to review current developments and set common goals for the period ahead.

Reiterating my warmest wishes for your election as leader of the CTP, I look forward to productive communication and cooperation between us.”
