Aristos Damianou was born in 1972 in occupied Famagusta and lives in Nicosia. He is married to Stavri Kalopsidiotou and they have a son.

He graduated with a Law (Honors) degree from (Middlesex University, United Kingdom) and LLM in Public International Law (Merit) (Queen Mary, University of London). He works as a Lawyer and Legal Advisor.

He became a member of AKEL in 1988, of the C.C. of AKEL in 2005 and of the Political Bureau in 2015. He is the Head of the Law Affairs Advisory Bureau of the C.C. of ΑΚΕΛ. He participates in the Cyprus Problem Advisory Office and Press Bureaux of the C.C., of AKEL. He is also a member of the AKEL Nicosia-Kyrenia District Committee and the Acropolis-Dasoupolis Borough Committee.

He was elected Member of Parliament in 2011 and was re-elected in 2016. He is a Member of the House Standing Committee on Financial and Budgetary Affairs, of the House Standing Committee on Foreign and European Affairs, of the House Standing Committee on Institutions, Merit and the Commissioner for Administration (Ombudsman) and of the House Standing Committee on Legal Affairs. He represents the House of Representatives in the Interparliamentary Conference for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP)…

He was a leading militant of the AKEL Branch in Britain, President of the Progressive Movement of Cypriot Students in the United Kingdom, member of the Executive and Central Council of the EDON Youth Organisation, Head of the International Relations Bureau of the Organization and member of the Security and Guarantee Working Group.
